Beware of hitch hikers.
I foolishly did what I never have before and picked up a male hitch hiker from the crossing by Noordhoek Farm village and gave him a lift over Ou Kaap Se Weg last Tuesday 25th Nov.
I dropped him off at the bottom by the fire centre and 5 mins later when I got to my destination I discovered that he had stolen my wallet from my bag which I had out behind his seat and covered with a child's car seat. I then saw him at the corner of Main Rd Noordhoek and the Silvermine rd today again thumbing a lift so I called the police but he had already gone by the time they got there. He had apparently been at the end of Beach rd 10 minutes earlier.
He is a black guy in his mid 30s about 6 foot tall and was still wearing the same clothes of a red and white nylon football shirt, jeans and trainers with day glo orange laces and he has a very short beard, a huge smile and waves his thumb and looks beseechingly at passers by. If you see him DO NOT pick him up and please call the CPNW ADT vehicle onĀ 078 4569398 and Fish Hoek police station on 0217842709.
